Zinc Anodes
In order to protect the metallic parts on your boat (shafts, props, rudders, etc.), you need to make sure you have proper zinc anodes installed and inspected on the regular. Known as "sacrificial anodes", zincs are connected to or placed over these parts in order to protect from electrolysis-caused corrosion.
